White Party

I’ve been having hard feelings toward work during the past weeks and to drive my mind away from it or maybe to get myself used to it, I focused on working more everyday. I would even take some of my tasks at home and finish my backlogs due to the turnover that happened in our team. On top of that, I also allot time for studying PHP and doing chores. Anyway, it took its toll on me and I fell sick twice, lost weight and just got really tired physically and emotionally. I dindn’t feel like thinking about any of it and questioned myself if I still wanted this or is everything running fair… Issues. Fortunately this weekend I had better options than staying home.

Last Saturday Yosef treated us to a drink in Aruba Bar. Not all of us in our Support team were there so it was kind of disappointing, knowing that the party was also Cherry’s farewell. She’ll be starting to work in Trend Micro next week. Haaay… But we still had a good time. It was one of the very few moments when we did not talk about work, not worried about deadlines and we saw the other sides of us that often get overshadowed by the whole professional ordeal. It was fun.

Then after Yosef’s party, I went to Malate to meet RJ and attend the annual gay pride White Party. I never attended this event since the industrial heaven theme in 2005 and it was quite a big deal for me because back then, it was only during this party when most of us in our barkada would be able to meet up and have a fun night. My friends are mostly straight guys and girls so we did not really go inside the event in front of the stage.

Last night was quite shitty because it was raining all over. It rained in every White Party that I’ve gone to in the past but this year was the worst cos it never stopped until around 3AM. We got there late and we did not expect the program to still be ongoing – I don’t know if they stopped it when the rain poured really hard earlier. The presentations that I saw were cool. I would say funny in a very cute way. Hehe… Drag queens performed onstage donning their ultra chic and colorful outfits. I saw a couple of groups perform Dreamgirls songs but my favorite was the one who did a Celine Dion medley and they sure got singing power of a female! And a stage diva attitude too. :)

There was this premiere of an OPM house music written and sang by a local group (I forgot the name) and the song was really very nice! RJ liked it too. It’s called “Underground River”. You should listen to it. But the highlight of the program was a fashion show by Top and Bottom boutique. They paraded in tank tops, hot pants and shorts but the swimwear segment rated the most of course. Hehe… They even delayed it with musical performances including one by Eva Papaya and a Christina Aguilera look-alike. Too bad I forgot my camera and my glasses. Wala tuloy kaming pictures.

It was an exhausting night. I wasn’t able to get my long and precious weekend sleep. Haaay… But I had a good time that I never actually had in months so everything was worth it.

OH!!! This afternoon I watched TRANSFORMERS with Bryan in Greenbelt 3. It was AWESOME!!! I can still feel my seat trembling. There’s more about them that meets the eye. :)
