I just got a beautiful message from Bhu:
If you laugh really loud, talk spontaneously and you don’t care what your face looks like, you’re probably with your real friends.
True. And last week’s celebration of Lhen’s birthday in Alchemy was another realization of that. It’s been a while since we last went there and got drunk – Liquid and O Lounge were still open then. Although we missed RJ and Liezel’s presence, we still had the coolest time. It might be because I don’t usually go out anymore that I really appreciated how much fun it was to get so drunk with your friends and dance. Of course everything was taken care of Vern, who always makes us happy whenever we go there. Thanks a lot!

It was the first time Bhu went there with us so the moment we we got our table, we started taking pictures. Haha! And the flashes went on throughout the night. Before the alcoholic drinks overflowed, we looked clean and okay. But eventually, the party signs appeared on our oily faces.
Then the drinks in different colors came in. I was ready to get tipsy – I had enough sleep, I had a full meal – I even told Kaye to take care of me if ever I pass out. Haha! You see, I’ve never passed out in my history of partying. Yeah I’ve thrown up many times – who doesn’t – but I always get home with a conscious mind. I guess I’m gonna try that irresponsible drinking when I’m done with the more important things. Hehe. But for now, this is what you’ll see if you break my alcohol threshold. Haha!
And so as the night grew late, each of us started to let loose. We danced. Like crazy kids who didn’t care about anyone around – it was our night. Haha! Kaye even got freaky with the flowers.
Bhu got drunk. I think it was the first time, in my 10 years of friendship with her, that I saw her get drunk and act drunk. Haha! She was funny. I got drunk too. I was able to take on the different colors of cocktails and shots that landed on our table but the one that hit me bullseye was tequila. I was never and will never be victorious over a bout with tequila and it was especially intoxicating since I was already feeling a little tipsy with the first mixes that we had. I sat down for a moment trying to regain mental stability after that. I almost threw up because of it.
Our fun time went on after that. The DJs held a booty-shaking contest that I so enjoyed watching. Haha! And they also paid tribute to Francis Magalona by slowing down the hype and playing “Cold Summer Nights” – it was a sweet moment. People in the dance floor stopped as the lights slowly swayed with the music. It was past 3AM when the DJ started playing shitty songs to make the guests leave.
Many thanks to Vern for hosting us. We left Alchemy at around 330AM to eat at the nearby McDonald’s where Lhen, Kaye and I had a heart-to-heart talk (Bhu and Dennis had to go home). It was the best way to sober up.
It may never be the same again but it’s good that we still get to enjoy the very rare time we spend together. One day I know we’ll be together again and do stuff like we used to. Like big little kids playing around celebrating more than a decade of friendship. 
Belated happy birthday Lhen, my soul sister! I enjoyed that night a lot – I needed that. I wish you love, happiness and success. Thank you for always understanding me, for making me happy whenever I call you and for always making me feel great when I lose control of things. We’ll always be friends kahit di tayo palagi nagkikita. Mwah!
