During the holidays I was able to meet the people I do not regularly see. It was weird seeing how we changed but then with the foundation our friendship had, we still felt close and comfortable doing the things we used to do and talking about the old days.
SPMF
My SPMF friends had our White Party at Kaye’s place in Antipolo last weekend. I was disappointed with the ordinary weather I encountered because Kaye told me how very cold and foggy it was up there early December. And I was also expecting the fireflies but they were a no-show. Anyway… The day started with RJ and I doing the shopping for food and gifts at Gateway. Medyo hassle yun kasi paikot-ikot kami with Kaye on the phone giving us instructions on what alcoholic drinks to buy. We arrived in Antipolo at 7PM.
The party was okay but not as fun as last year. Even with the laughter-filled games, I still missed having Christine around and Michael and Jack and Gilbert. The party ended at 5AM.

MONEER AND COCOY
Two days before 2009, Moneer called and asked me to go out. He’s a friend from college who now stays in Cotabato for his business. An hour after, we (Jeyelle, Moneer, Cocoy [another college friend] and me) were having dinner in Timog all on Mon’s tab. The last time I saw Moneer was last September when he dropped by the office to ask us out (but I couldn’t). And with Cocoy, we were still in college when we last saw and talked to each other. Haha! That’s why I couldn’t believe how business-like they had become. As for Cocoy, he looked cuter with his clean-cut hair and buff body. Too bad we weren’t able to take pictures of us that night for souvenir. Sayang.
KEITH
Keith was one of my closest friends in college. To describe Keith, he’s unpredictable, quiet and fun. Quiet and fun, right? That’s why he’s unpredictable – he’d just stay quiet and then suddenly he’d crack a funny joke or do something nobody expected him to do. We’d regularly talk through IM but the last time we met in person was in college.
Last Friday, I fetched Jeyelle from the office and we went to Greenbelt to meet Keith. He grew big. I mean, I see him in pictures but it wasn’t until last Friday that I noticed how big his bone structure was. Bagay sa kanya. We had dinner in Fuzion and we inadvertently took a memorable seat for him. Haha! He’s still that emotional – like the old Keith I know. The three of us caught up with our stories and recounted the college days over a delicious dinner. And after eating, we relaxed by scanning the area for cute guys. Hahaha! Really like the old times.

At around 9PM we transferred to Top Grill in Jupiter where his officemates were celebrating. We settled by the balcony and there was this TV set tuned in to Channel 2. Haaay I loved it! Even during the holidays, I wasn’t able to watch local TV shows because I was always sleeping or eating or watching DVDs. So as we let Keith do his “business” with his “officemate” inside, Jeyelle and I enjoyed ourselves watching “I Luv Betty La Fea”, “Eva Fonda” and “Pinoy Fear Factor” over long drinks.

MCO
Yesterday I had dinner in Blue Wave with my officemates from ACS. I will never forget them because they’re my first ever officemates. All the experiences I have now about the call center world, I learned and lived with them. They also witnessed how Piglet and I started. And after three years, they still are the same people I used to work with: funny, spontaneous, childish and loud. Hahaha! Only now, fortunately, some of them have reached higher positions in different companies.

Mygaaad! And up until now they still can’t make up their minds quickly. It took us almost an hour deciding where to eat. Haha! From high-end buffet to just staying at the apartment, we finally decided to stay in Guilly’s island in SM Mall of Asia. And at the last minute, as we passed by Blue Wave, we switched plans and went to Gerry’s Grill. Even with our after-hours party, we couldn’t decide whether to stay in White Avenue, Absinth, Ascend, Alchemy or Metro Walk. It took us an hour of picture-taking and walking around before we finally decided to hit Timog. Haaaaay…

As they say, some things never change. Well good because I like them that way.
