Summer? Haha. Anyway… It took almost a couple of months to plan – from big venues to the littlest ones – and it finally happened by force. Some of those who agreed backed out but we really wanted to do it so we downsized the plan and ended up having the coolest night of summer. What a way to end the season – best friends, new mind-sets, same old humor.

We finalized everything only by Friday. The number of people who’d come was still indefinite but we were sure it had to happen even if there’d be only three of us. We also chose to go there at night. It was the weekend and a lot of people would surely be there and we did not want that. So, Saturday came and the ones who showed up? Lhen, Liezel, RJ, Christine, Kaye, Ice and Me. Perfect!

We were so very late. We reached Kaye’s house at around 1030PM. But then, we weren’t really specific about what time we had to be there plus we were taking things easy for once. One good thing that I liked was how we prepared our food. In the past we were so used to having Gilbert do all the cooking and preparing while we take over after the meal. That night, it wasn’t really major but we cut, sliced, diced and laughed at the thought of making chismis while cooking. It was a classic housewife scene.

At around 1AM, Kaye’s Dad dropped us off the resort which was practically a 15-minute walk away from the house. There were lots of people around our age bracket and I liked it – we got others to look at than just ourselves. But they also had to leave after a couple of hours so eventually, the pool was left for us to own. It was fun. I never felt as young. It was very reminiscent of the old days in Grotto Vista. I originally intended to drink and not swim much but I missed it. I missed it with them. And hitting a homerun back to those feelings just makes you feel more complete and a better person.

I won’t mind doing it again.
