Saturday night. World Trade Center Manila. I’m still quite dazed right now cos’ I just got home from the party and those lights really were crazy. I liked it. Tiesto was here in Manila and it seemed like all the party-animals of Manila were there to groove with him - I wonder how many guests Embassy and Warehouse 135 had last evening.

I am not a fan of Tiesto. Really. Bryan is and he wanted to go so I went. I prefer Chicane – Tiesto’s sound is sometimes too heavy for my taste. It’s true that I would’ve preferred a good night sleep last night because I barely slept after my Friday night shift and I really needed rest but the party was worth my time. Tiesto was very good and he knows how to hype-up the crowd. He knows when to make the people settle down for a bit before firing up a great beat that sends them back up and jumping. And that kept the crowd eneregized all through his three-hour set.

We arrived in World Trade Center around 1130PM seeing a long line of people subjecting to security check. I almost thought it was too crowded. But past the buff guys, the lobby’s atmosphere was exciting even when people were just walking around trying to find friends. There were souvenir items for sale (like the LED shirts which I really wanted but I was broke last night), a press wall by Alchemy where you could take pictures and there was a cigar stand too – yes, smoking was allowed inside. From there you could see the exciting dark and foggy event floor which was inviting. We just lingered around for a moment before having our tickets stamped.
Look how beautiful the Airship looks flying gently among the lights above the partying crowd.
The place was great! And the lights and lasers were totally amazing! Those were actually the things I was most looking forward to. There were guys moving around selling beer or bottled water so we did not need to flock the bar for a drink. There was also this mini Airship emblazoned with “World Wide Womb” and “Alchemy” hovering above us and it was totally cool. A total attention-drawer and it looked especially good when it passed by above the stage. Bryan and I kept staring at it. The sound system was very good too – we really felt the bass (and the floor) pounding. We settled behind the large crowd right in front of the stage because we didn’t wanna get caught up in their super dancing. Our spot was just perfect for listening, watching the DJ, the people and minding-your-own-business. Hehe!
Watch Tiesto’s entrance. It was intense and it gave me goosebumps.
Tiesto appeared around 1AM. When he started playing, that’s when I noticed the difference in skill between the previous DJ and him. He was better. But I barely recognized any song except for “Break My Fall” and “Love Comes Again”. Bryan would just tell me how much he liked such song and I’d just say “Ano yan?” I felt as ignorant as I was back in 2004 when I watched Incubus’ A Crow Left of The Murder Tour with RJ. Haha! But the show was fun – especially the dancing and the people. Lots of beautiful people. We belong. Hahaha! There was this group who jumped and moved all through the course of Tiesto’s performance and they never got exhausted. Me, by around 3AM, I felt tired and hungry. I was not alone though – there were also groups who felt the pain of standing for hours so they sat on the floor. Tiesto finished his set by 4AM without playing “Beautiful Things”. Apparently, Bryan told me that it was more of a hit by Andain than Tiesto. Sayang.
It’s good to be out once in a while. I have been doing so, though not by my own initiative, for several weeks now. But I noticed that my interest in dancing was not as much as back in the old days and I could not get myself into that zone anymore. I wanted to but I couldn’t. I tried blaming it on my shoes because they hurt but whatever, the feeling of just losing it in the music was hard to attain now unlike before. Haaaay! Well, anyway. I know Tiesto’s event won’t be the last of its kind that I’d go to. And maybe by the time Chicane arrives here, I’ll be all prepped-up for all-night dancing to his groove.

Look o… Kori partied with us too.
BTW, the sounds of the videos are crappy. I just took them using Suze (my digicam). I actually took more videos than pictures because my camera sucks taking shots in the dark.
MORE EVENT VIDEOS THAT I LIKE:
This one’s before Tiesto’s set. Love those lasers!
I’m in love with those light shows!
Flashing were the names of cities that Tiesto visited. You’d notice at first that
Manila wasn’t there. And then it stopped. MANILA. People went crazy! Great moment.
HELLO MANILA! I CAN’T HEAR YOU!

Nung play nya yung victorious.. like nagkaroon ako ng goosebumps and all! Grabe! The best night of 2008! Sigh. Trance rules!
