Keith, my friend and fellow fanatic, sent me this. It’s been a while since Mariah last covered an old song and she did very well with this one. “I Want To Know What Love Is” – originally by Foreigner – is the next single from her upcoming album Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel. It had its world premiere hours ago in a European radio station.
According to her team, it’s actually the first “real” single from the album (whatever that means) so I guess “Obsessed” was just a publicity stunt to create buzz about the album. Well, it worked. And even more to her advantage, Eminem wrote “The Warning” in response to Obsessed. Haha! Publicity, good or bad, is still publicity. Now everyone knows she has an album coming out.
Back to the song. I like it a lot. It’s calm at first and then the choir kicks in towards the end triggering goosebumps. Bitin nga lang kasi it’s only 3:38 but it’s enough to make you want to play it all over again. I wish she can sing this live, though.
