A week ago, we were twelve-year-olds again. For Kaye’s birthday we had an afternoon of laughter and fun in the rain. I was actually worried Daddy (Kaye’s dad) would scold us for getting too soaked. It was fun. If we weren’t carrying our cellphones and cameras with us we would’ve stayed out longer.

Story and more pics after the jump…
Kaye prepared pasta, chicken and bread for us. I was so happy to see that much food for only three of us – wala lang. Lots of delicious food makes me happy. Plus we brought him a roll of chocolate cake. Ice cream lang ang wala that day, birthday na birthday na ang mood. After eating, we had him blow the candle. And that was one freaky candle. It wouldn’t get blown off!

After our meal, Kaye took us to a cliff at edge of their subdivision’s border. It was scary. But it felt cool looking at the view of the mountain side and Laguna bay from afar. And inspite of the rain clouds hanging over us, we still sat down to talk about Lhen’s recent stories. We took pictures, smoked, laughed and talked… It was a carefree moment until the strong wind started blowing. And within seconds, the rain poured down. We knew we wouldn’t make it to the house dry so we just enjoyed getting soaked!

Kaye lent us dry clothes. After fixing ourselves, we were back to kiddy mode and made fun of each other. It was a moment of release – a slack – after weeks of all work and no play. And nothing compares to being kids again with, who else, your childhood friends!
