Crazy Phone Banking Caller

Posted by Borgy On February - 23 - 2009

Raymond sent me this. You might have heard this by now and I’m wondering how it got out. She was annoyingly entertaining but she’s also majorly offending due to lots of putanginas and slur to Filipinos by a Filipina using the Filipino language while trying to withdraw money from an ATM in the Philippines.

I just have these questions:

  1. How did this call recording get leaked-out? Phone banking conversations are supposed to be private and be kept protected due to confidential information being disclosed within the call.
  2. Based on the call, she was using a phone inside the bank. Wasn’t there a security guard in there? Even if it was in the middle of the night, a security guard should still be present. Let’s say the guard fell asleep – all that yelling could awaken even a hibernating grizzly bear! Maybe the guard got scared of her? Yeah. Maybe. Hehe.
  3. Was she arrested for creating public scandal?

It’s irritating to find Pinoys like her. Firstly because she’s stupid for freaking out – she didn’t even let the agent help her with her issue. For just 13,000PhP she had to act like a monster. Next, her attitude towards Filipinos is just bad. I believe she lived in the U.S. for quite some time and with that she thought she’s better than other Filipinos. She said it herself “Ako lang ang Pilipinang gusto ko!” Basta I loved the entertainment value of this but I can’t help but hate her for her stupidity. I believe in diplomacy. In Filipino nga eh, lahat nadadaan sa mabuting usapan. She didn’t have to freak out. And yeah, the Philippines has a lot of flaws but I still love it and I’m proud to be Pinoy.

Angel. Borgy.

Thank you for believing in me, for your kindness, your respect and love. Though we’ve only been friends for a few months, I’ve learned a lot from you. Sayang ang bilis lang natin nagkasama. But I am very happy to have met and worked with you. Until our next late night talk over french fries… Thank you Angel! :)

Work Work Work

Posted by Borgy On February - 14 - 2009

Phew! I’m very happy today that the ES project is over. I spent two months to test it and the past two weeks were the worst especially that I was also writing Business Continuity Plan docs at the same time. Though it doesn’t end there, I just feel good to have accomplished something big. Next week will be the start of MDP project and the BCP docs are still on so work will still be colorful (you decide what shade).

Things are steady at WELS. Mismanagement issues were faced off by resignation of one of their most-valued employee which was a significant loss for them. Me? I don’t expect anything grand from them. Everyday I’m basically there to earn extra. I’ve done my job well for the past five months, my number of students do not go below than average and I have special one-on-one classes in Math and Computer. I’m personally gratified to realize I can do this much and that’s enough for me. That company doesn’t know how to value its workers so I’ve long stopped aiming to get noticed. And once my contract expires, I’m off.

Thinking about going back to having only one job excites me. I can’t wait to go home early. I want to go back to the gym and gain back my lost pounds. I wanna spend time with my Piglet and my family again. And this time I have greater appreciation of time and money. There are fleeting moments when I wish all these responsibilities be taken off my shoulders but then, things changed into this way since Mom left and I have no choice. Somehow it made me grow up so it’s still good. And besides, all these will pass too.

It’s early Saturday morning and I’m here in the office doing minor stuff and I’m about to go home after another 18-hour workday. Weekends for me don’t mean nights out – I’ve been staying out day and night all week for goodness sake! Weekends for me mean lots of sleep, good food and cuddling moments. On the day when I’ve put our lives back to how we used to be, I’ll do things for myself – I’ll work on photography, clothes, toy dogs and businesses. Ooooh… Can’t wait! :D

Jennifer Hudson

Posted by Borgy On February - 11 - 2009

I think Jennifer Hudson has the most powerful voice among the singers of her generation. With talent alone, she can actually be lined up with Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. But she has to appeal to music fans and prove that she can put that big voice to good use.

Her performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” in this year’s Super Bowl is the best one yet after Whitney Houston in 1991 – that song was commercially released that year and reached #20 in Billboard Hot 100 chart. And just like Whitney, Jennifer’s version is currently available for download on iTunes. It’s so good it gave me goosebumps!

Bow down people! :D

RJ

Posted by Borgy On February - 8 - 2009

Among my few real friends, RJ is the most career-oriented that I totally admire. There’s no stopping her or her will to get ahead. We would sit down in Coffee Bean and talk about our plans and we’d just fill each other with encouraging words that one day we’d get what we want. The city could’ve imploded on our spot with the intense drive to succeed we felt surging within us.

Hours ago she left for Qatar and it’ll take long before we see each other again. I’m not good with goodbyes that’s why during her farewell night last Friday, I refused to share my fondest memories with her. I thought it inappropriate because I knew she’d be back and most of all, I didn’t wanna cry. I’m gonna miss her. Haaaay…

RJ. I’ve always believed in your determination and now that you’ve taken a big step forward, keep going and do all those stuff that we used to talk about. No more Coffee Bean moments for me but what you have now is way better. Puta ka I thought we’d live together abroad tapos iniwan mo ko. Hahaha! Until next time. :) Good luck pare.

Another Mariah Carey Entry

Posted by Borgy On February - 7 - 2009

Back for the weekend from my usual neurotic state of mind during the past five days, I have random thoughts that I wish to share.

I am a Mariah Carey fan. Even though I don’t like everything that she does or put out, I still like the music that she makes. Plus her extravagant lifestyle amuses me – imagine moving around everyday having not less than ten people surrounding you to make sure your every step is okay. Include the hundreds of screaming strangers shouting your name and taking your picture. Ayos diba. Anyway… Over the years it has become a habit to check on the latest news about her everyday.

My Love. Mariah Carey.

My Love. Mariah Carey.

Mariah has things coming out soon – the first one being widely available is the video for the song “My Love” which was shot this week. It’s actually a song by The Dream that features her. This may enter the mainstream charts unlike ”Right To Dream”, an adult contemporary song that was released late last year as a promo song for the movie “Tennessee”, in which she co-stars.  Then late January, another movie with her in it premiered at The Sundance Festival. The title was “Push” and it received very good reviews and awards from the festival’s jury. Mariah was also praised for her acting in this movie. Quite unebelievable right? Seven years after Glitter comes a good acting review for Mariah Carey. Apparently, she did please the audience. I’m interested to see it but I wanna see her having rougher scenes than just trying to cry or exchanging words with someone. I see those in her videos or in interviews already. I wanna see something different that requires her to put her guard down and go dirty. Look at Beyonce in “Caddilac Records”.

Right To Dream. Mariah Carey.

Tennessee.

Her appearance in “Push” may be a start. She was deglamorized here that you can barely recognize her. The film, despite having a grim story, may be going to local theaters late 2009 because the viewers say it’s an eye-openner. It shows a side of the African-American community that not everyone is aware of but exists in real life. Oprah Winfrey even joined in to contribute promotional effort to make it reach the people. The story is about an obese and illiterate girl who was raped by her father giving her two babies. I wonder if it will reach Philippines shores.

Push. Mariah Carey

And some more things in Mariah’s music, Sony records released a compilation of her early hit songs. It’s called “The Ballads”. They’ve been milking as much money from her as they can. But Mariah did something weird and disappointing to promote this album – she re-recorded her song “Hero” and it doesn’t even come close to the original. Fortunately, it wasn’t the version included in the album. That’s why I don’t really see the point of redoing it.

The Ballads.

This is slowly becoming a Mariah Carey fan site. Haha!

Jumpstart

As I said before, the funniest book I’ve read is gonna hit theaters this February. Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

I wonder when it will be shown here. This is the next movie that Piglet and I will watch together. I recommended him this book during the time when I experienced problems with my ISP due to a wrong billing address. He had no choice but to read it and eventually he liked it so much that he even gave me the second book as a gift.

Anyway… I can’t be happier that January’s over. To me, Januaries are like Mondays – I don’t like them. It’s when things get a kickstart with you still having a hangover from the weekend/holiday that went. And many things happened this past month that I couldn’t think of anything to write here. So now that February’s here, it’s not my luckiest month but at least it’s no longer January, I feel inspired to get things going. And some things are getting messy at WELS. Haaay… it’s worse than my stupid mismanagement experience from ACS and I can’t wait to leave that company. If only for the people there that I’ve learned to love, I won’t go. But there are better options and I can’t settle for anything less. Nobody in that company should.

In the middle of that crazy month I was able to sneak in a few hours off for Jacques’s birthday celebration. It was fun (and a bit embarrassing for me… Jacques knows and I won’t say it here) especially because his cousins were cool and they’re fun to watch fooling around.

Jacques. Grace. Ice. Borgy.

Jacques's Birthday.

Plus, look at Jacques’s room on his birthday. This is a surprise from Grace. Talk about sweet effort. Okay so now you have an idea how to give your partner happy birthday.

Jacques's Birthday.

There… Now I finally feel 2009 is here. Happy New Year everybody! :D Thanks Jacques and Grace for the pics.
