Time Off

Posted by Borgy On April - 28 - 2008

The start of the week feels good because I’m on vacation. Not really a holiday but I took a couple of days off from work and I’m just here at home relaxing, doing chores, spending time with my family, eating with them, talking, watching TV and just having free moments together. You know, when you’re out there in the city working in corporate buildings in the business district and mingling with different people everyday, work stuff and all that goes with it become routinary and they just get into you and eventually burn you out. Just the thought of dressing up and putting on shoes will make you feel uninspired. So it’s nice to not have to worry about going out, travelling, projects and schedules once in a while.

What I’ve done so far: I’ve watched five movies in 24 hours. I have three more on queue. The hamper’s been cleared the I’ve finished the laundry. I initially intended to meet some friends for snack and then comply with my workout schedule right after but staying home is really all I wanna do so those are now cancelled. Arwen’s done eating. Carbo-loading will resume in an hour so I’m gonna be preparing my meal after this. I’m also waiting for the conversion of Garfield 2 to finish and then I’ll be lying back on my bed eating and watching movies on my iPod. Still got one more day to enjoy before I resume with my usual work stuff. Love it!

Tiesto: Elements of Life World Tour

Posted by Borgy On April - 20 - 2008

Bryan. Borgy. Tiesto: Elements of Life World Tour.

Saturday night. World Trade Center Manila. I’m still quite dazed right now cos’ I just got home from the party and those lights really were crazy. I liked it. Tiesto was here in Manila and it seemed like all the party-animals of Manila were there to groove with him - I wonder how many guests Embassy and Warehouse 135 had last evening.

Always Be My Baby – David Cook

Posted by Borgy On April - 17 - 2008

This may be the best cover of any Mariah song I’ve heard. David Cook during Mariah week on American Idol singing “Always Be My Baby”. Goosebumps.

Liezel: I Stay In Love?

Posted by Borgy On April - 13 - 2008

When I heard the news about Liezel’s breakup two weeks ago I thought she’d be back with M soon after because it had always been like that. You know, usual case of jumping into conclusions before thinking things through. But it wasn’t the case this time. It seemed final. So when Lhen arranged a meet-up last night, I agreed even if I already maxed out my cards and my wallet was out of cash.

DTC 2008 Summer

Posted by Borgy On April - 6 - 2008

Part two. From Alchemy, we went back to the office to wait for the rest before we leave Manila. We only had less than three hours to sober-up and in my case, to get my things from the house and run back to the office. Our company’s summer getaway is always my favorite time because we get to be with each other more as friends than just officemates. We’ll talk about many things other than work stuff and just see the soft (more human) side of us.

We were drunk, hot and haggard. Pero pretty pa din… Haha!

Alchemy

Posted by Borgy On April - 5 - 2008

Harvey. Jeyelle. Borgy.

Everybody must have checked this place out by now but my first and only visit happened last Friday (March 28) before our company outing in Bataan. Vern was so nice to put us in the guest list and made everything happen practically for free (thanks so much for the fun night) because for a middle-class earner like me, this place is quite expensive. It’s 100% more expensive than the usual party place in Timog or Malate. When I was in college I could get drunk in less than 500 pesos transportation included but in Alchemy, a cocktail is worth 300 pesos and beer’s 100. I know it’s not really so mahal and I’m cheap when it comes to these things that I consider now unnecessary but partying isn’t on top of my list anymore and I’d rather spend on pampering myself than getting intoxicated.
