At Home

Whew! It was one busy week at work and I’m glad it’s over. Weekend’s here but I won’t go out tonight for a change. I feel like staying here. I bought something to read in the supermarket this evening so I’ll prepare myself some good food, sit by the bed and let time fly. I’m gonna savor that unusually peaceful moment when I am not hurrying myself into something. Hehe… Supposedly, it’s Jeyelle’s party tonight but she cancelled yesterday for her sister’s graduation. A blessing in disguise, I should say. :)

Lately there’s nothing much to blog about. It makes me conclude that students have much more time and exciting blogworthy experiences and it’s like they are not yet bound by fear that a certain someone would read something he/she shouldn’t know. I mean, they can always excuse themselves from just about anything. Back in college my blog was updated almost everyday. From the littlest thing to badmouthing somebody I didn’t like – they were all written down. And back then I was partying three nights a week at least that’s why I had lots to say. Aaah… Those were the days. Somehow I’m happy I’ve already outgrown that phase.

What can I say now… Hmmm… I miss my friends. We don’t go out anymore. Last Saturday I saw Gilbert in Malate but we didn’t stay together that long because we had to transfer to another bar. Kaye invited us over to their new house but after Jeyelle cancelled today’s event, I didn’t feel like going out anymore, maybe because I anticipated this evening differently. And since it didn’t happen, I’d just settle for its opposite. Get it? No? Hehe… Me neither.

Anyway… I’ll end this nonsense here. OH! FYI… My all-time favorite SEX AND THE CITY will finally be featured on the big screen. Yes! A movie. They’ve been planning to do that since the series ended in 2004 and after several problems, it’s finally going to happen. All four of them – together again. Cool! I wonder what the two-hour story will be. I hope it won’t disappoint the audience because the story was so successful on TV and people surely have great expectations.

After several delays I was finally able to set my gaze upon those wonderful lights at the World Light Expo 2007 in ParaƱaque this evening. Lhen was with me. I decided to take her out because she’s feeling low after her treasured relationship ended a few days back. Well, I think no beer or party can substitute the natural high that you’ll feel when you’re among those glittering lights. They’re pretty. We indulged ourselves into our narcissistic tendencies and spent the whole night camwhoring among almost every single exhibit. I particularly enjoyed the giant arcs (I don’t know exactly what they’re called. I lost my brochure) and also the water screen laser show. After the lights, we continued the fun and met Gilbert and his girlfriend in Malate.

It was hard to appreciate the fun that evening because I knew Lhen was hurting and also, ironically, it wasn’t how my Saturday night was supposed to happen. I initially inteded to visit our college friend’s wake in Bulacan who passed away last week but nobody confirmed the trip until around 8PM when I was about to leave for the light show so I had no choice but to drop out. It was a shocking news and the last thing I’d ever wanna do was to visit the wake of someone I know, moreover I’m friends with. It’s the hardest thing. Rest in peace big guy. We will miss you.

During the whole week of work-work-work I had set in my mind that I would see the lights of the Expo in ParaƱaque last Saturday. I had hoped and we were about to leave when shit happened. You see, I gained weight and most of my old clothes don’t fit anymore. I’m in dire need of a new set of clothes and the only one available I could put on my back that evening did not suit me like it should. That thing lead to another and some more that I got really pissed off and I did not feel like going out anymore so we just cancelled the trip. Haaay… I did not answer phone calls and text messages and went to bed.

I felt like I deserved better since I worked my ass off all week so I planned to see a movie in Greenbelt on Sunday night. The last movie I watched there was like, umm… I think it was Superman Returns. Yeah. It’s been so long and ever since I started working in Ortigas I barely visit the place. I actually wanted to watch 300 but Bryan didn’t like war-themed movies and Mary Ann had already seen it so we settled for Dreamgirls. Hannah couldn’t go with us because she had to work at 8PM. Too bad. Anyway… After walking around Glorietta to buy clothes (I wasn’t able to get any because I didn’t know that there was a mall-wide sale that day and I hate digging around racks with flocks of other shoppers beside me. It was torture), we decided to stay in my favorite and colorful resto Fuzion. I was tired and hungry and it was great relief to lie on their orange couch but the meal took forever to prepare and we were about to miss the start of the movie so after minutes of waiting, we just cancelled the order, paid for our drinks and had pizza as take-out. Darn!

We missed like five minutes of the movie. I did not expect it to be a total musical with singing converstaions (which freaked me out a bit) but It was nice all throughout with quite predictable scenes but were nicely executed. Totally sparkling, colorful and glamorous. I loved it. Kudos for the captivating shots and the super soundtrack.

It was one of those unusual moments when officemates become kids and they become my friends. They organized a little team building activity last Wednesday night to loosen things up in the office and it was fun. I enjoyed it. I hope there will be more of such events in the future. I never played bowling since high school so wearing those shoes again felt strange. Our team won 3rd place. :)

Anyway I’m about to sleep. I came from work and I just finished all I had to do before I end my day. Here’s one of the pics that I liked taken by Virgil, my supervisor. Nice.

The other night at Star City was fun. We might not have had much time to savor our pop tags but I think those rides were enough. I will never forget that Surf Dancer. Haha!

Anyway, starting now I promise to never drink liquor again. NEVER. After Star City, we went to Malate for some fun. Too bad the others had to leave because of the little kids but RJ stayed with me and we spent the night in TimeOut bar – away from the crowd. It was nice there and the best thing was their unlimited shots of Jose Cuervo for only 300Php. Great deal. The bar tender also gave me a free shot of Jagermeister – he was trying to convince me try his other mix. Well, unlimited tequila was too good to pass up on.

Or maybe I was wrong… That night was the worst drunkenness I’ve ever been. The nearest one after that was back in college when I consumed several bottles of Red Horse the night before our final exam. I could barely look at the the test questions. Well, last night… I lost Bryan’s phone. :( I wish I had sent him home instead when he called at around 3AM saying he’d drop by wherever I was. He went out with his friends as well and was already drunk when we met. He gave me his phone so he wouldn’t lose it. Argh! Well… Shit happens!

I puked several times last night and this morning. It’s good that I was able to hold it while in the cab. It was so embarrassing. I’ll never take tequila again. Never. Even if they offer me free unlimited shots. Well… Not unless Bryan’s there sober so someone will take me home if I pass out. :)
