Merry Christmas

Posted by Borgy On December - 26 - 2006

Christmas has just passed and though it’s totally different this year because of Mom’s absence, the event went fairly well for me and my family. Everything dropped into their proper places in time for the season and I am very happy that we’re all happy now and again with ourselves, our loved-ones and our lives.

I’m making a new design because I found out that Carlo, same with Bryan, is visiting my site by directly going to this frame’s source page and just totally disregarding my giant face on your left. And that’s just not right… Hehe. Nah! I’m kidding. I’m really bored with this layout and with the lack of color around here. The one that’s currently in-the-making has some earth colors in it so Vincent will no longer be shocked with the bright orange motif that I used to have.

I received loads of Christmas gifts from my officemates this year (which I am very thankful for cos I love opening presents – and Bryan surely had his time eating those cookies and chocolates) but I opened them before Christmas because I have this rebellion against letting them wait under the tree until Christmas eve. I’m not very good with procrastination. So the only present I opened on Christmas day was from Bryan – I guess he knew I’d open it right away if he gave it to me earlier. A very beautiful gift. Thanks.

My Christmas present from Bryan. Beautiful. I didn’t wanna open it when I first saw it.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve in Ayala. We bought our camera, had our high tea in Fuzion then watched the street lights.

Bryan in Ayala Avenue at Christmas. Fantastic.

Two Fridays ago Bryan and I had a cool afternoon meal in CPK after I shopped for my party outfit in Shangri-la. I wasn’t able to blog about it due to lack of time. It was fun and that night at our Christmas party I was hailed “Male Star of the Night.” Hehe. Here’s a cute picture of me and my officemates in Discovery Suites.

The lights and the fabulous trees made us look like a million dollars!

I’ll be posting our Christmas pictures on my next design which may be finished before this year ends. Merry Christmas everybody!

Look what I got…

Starbucks Planner 2007

Hehe. I’ve been having Toffee Nut Latte overdose for almost two weeks now to help awaken my senses while doing my new task at work and of course to gather stickers for this shiny little thing. I finally got it and mind you, it’s my first. I’ve never had the will for this because I prefer other coffee shops over Starbucks. Well, that is only because people (lots of people) flock the place and it’s not easy to get that quiet time anymore. Too bad for me cos I love their White chocolate Cream Frap and the awesome strawberry waffles with whipped cream but hey, I can’t trade that serene comfort that I don’t always get.

You’ll see all kinds of people in Starbucks and you can’t help but hate one (or a group) during your every single visit. I am not a hater but annoyance can’t be avoided if you’re longing for that sweet moment with the couch, a cup of coffee and lots of relaxing green and brown walls and then some random group will just come barging in with all the invasive noise. I don’t know. I’ve been to many other shops but such things only happen in Starbucks. Well, they won’t lose their business because I choose not to go there, will they? Hehe. As a matter of fact they just earned nearly three thousand bucks from me because of that regal thing.

That’s quite a disclaimer, huh! Nah… I’m really sleepy and I’m rambling again. I came from a busy day at work, stopped by at Podium to buy dinner, traveled across Edsa to Makati to catch that easy ride home. Not my usual route but I so love the lights in Ayala kasi eh. Hehehehe…

Fine. :) Good night.

Hope this little thing can put my life in order for the next 365 days!

Big Friday

Posted by Borgy On December - 6 - 2006

I’ve never been really able to go out like I used to during the past month. That’s why I so looked forward to my first visit in SM Mall of Asia last Friday. Imagine I was a mere one FX ride to that humongous structure but I never had the time to pay it a visit. I guess fate was saving all the moment for that magical Friday when the whole world stopped and even a super-typhoon forgave the Metro to give me a special time to enjoy myself.

I never expected that mall to be that huge. I mean, I never imagined such great space to be occupied by just one building. Since that weekend I’ve been thinking of a bigger building than that that I’ve visited in the past but really, it was the greatest. Bryan and I spent three hours roaming around making stops at shoe stores, gadget stores and some bookstores but I’m sure we still missed areas of it unvisited. The seaside gallery was superb and I guess that makes Mall of Asia stand out among the others (aside from the fact that it’s the biggest). Nothing else has such relaxing view to provide and SM has wisely taken advantage of it by placing expensive restaurants along its veranda. That evening we settled at Pink Pepper to have dinner and watch the fireworks display and darn, it was more expensive than our breakfast in Heaven and Eggs and I did not even have my extra rice. Well, Bryan did and I’m sure he had his time for he ordered a round of onion rings while I only had double refills of drink and a glass of Cosmo. Hehe.

It might have cost us more than we expected but it was the best dinner (well, it should be! Hehe) that the two of us had. It was more beautiful than our Christmas Eve dinner last year. We watched the magnificent fireworks display right across our seats while smoking and sipping cocktail – the colors, the effects and the lights. For ten magical minutes, the splendor validated the night to become a special moment of happiness that I will always remember.

After our dinner, we walked around a little to see more things before we proceeded to IMAX theater for our reservation in Happy Feet. I was disappointed at IMAX and I think it was a bit overrated. I mean, yes that screen was really huge but I think that those 600 seats were squeezed into that little room that it almost felt claustrophobic. It might be for the effects but if you did not know that you’d be that close to the screen and you chose a seat in row F or G, you’d get an aching neck by the end of the show. Still, what more can you ask for – that was the biggest movie screen in the world!

For someone  living in a fast world here in the city, sometimes you have to either take an experience a notch higher than the norm or completely get a closure from the hype to make it worth your while. Or else, memories of it will just drift away as easily as a cigarette smoke on a windy afternoon. That day at the biggest mall in Asia where I watched the biggest animated film of the year on the biggest screen in the world surely is an experience.

Borgy. Bryan.

It’s been a while. Hehe… I can’t believe myself as well. I had loads in my mind that I can blog about but I just did not have the will the write about them. Well, many things happened during my nineteen-day hiatus and most noticeable of those is me gaining more and more weight. People from the office (consider the fact that I see them everyday) gave many comments about it and it was music to my ears. Really. I felt like blessing them with portions of my millions but I thought it would be a better act of kindness to let them live their peaceful lives. Haha!
